St. Nikolaus Day at Meadowbrook Waldorf School
The children in the lower grades were busy yesterday tidying their rooms and placing their shoes out neatly in anticipation for a visit from Saint Nicholas. This morning those eager boys and girls found treasures of clementines and small shells in their shoes waiting for them, sometimes with a hint of glitter left behind from their secret visitor.
Workshop: Managing Childhood Anxiety
This workshop will present parents, faculty, and staff with information that will transform the way they think about and respond to anxiety in children and adolescents. Information on recognizing anxiety disorders in youth as well as tips and techniques for responding to anxiety will be presented. Come and learn what research-supported approaches to behavior change you can begin applying immediately to provide children and adolescents with the skills to deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life.
Re-Imaginging Money: An Invitation
Imagine you had a voice in setting the interest rate for your loan. Imagine if your savings not only earned you interest but directly benefited nonprofit organizations working for social and environmental good in the world. Or if you could meet representatives from the companies you were invested in to hear firsthand about the projects your money was helping to fund.
Advent Spiral -- A Community Gathering
We have just entered into the season of Advent. Traditionally celebrated the four Sundays before the winter solstice, it marks a time of introspection as we all await the return of the sun and lengthening days. This seasonal remembrance of light takes place in many cultures across the globe. At our Waldorf school, we mark this season with weekly Advent spiral walks.
